Formati da Zak Stevens dopo la sua partenza dai Savatage da cantante solista con cui registra quattro album. La scrittura del debutto "Watching in Silence" inizia a metà del 2001, quando Zak e Jon Oliva entrano nei D.O.W. studios a Tampa per registrare alcune demo. La maggior parte delle canzoni incluse nell'album sono scritte insieme a Jon Oliva e Chris Caffery. Non dovrebbe quindi sorprendere che suoni molto simile ai Savatage, considerando chi c'è nella formazione. Con gli arrangiamenti epici, i passaggi lunatici e la voce impennata di Zak, avrebbe potuto avere idee per un loro nuovo album, essendo molto sulla scia di "Dead Winter Dead" o "Wake of Magellan". Lo stesso tipo di melodie vocali, di arrangiamento, di temi lirici. Se scavi davvero i pezzi più dolci degli ultimi album dei Savatage, devi avere questo disco. Dopo l'uscita del debutto (AFM, 2003) l'intera band tranne Stevens lascia e si unisce ad Oliva ed al suo nuovo progetto Jon Oliva's Pain. Altri 3 album sono quindi pubblicati sotto AFM, poi altri 3 sotto Ear / Edel. Disponibile per la prima volta in Lp, concesso in licenza da AFM.
Formed by Zak Stevens after his departure, as lead singer, from Savatage, after recording four albums. The writing for debut "Watching in Silence" began in mid-2001 when Zak and Jon Oliva entered D.O.W. studios in Tampa to start some rough demos of their early ideas. Most songs included in the album were co-written with either Jon Oliva and Chris Caffery. It should be no surprise this sounds a lot like Savatage, considering who’s in the lineup, with the epic arrangements, moody passages, and Zak’s soaring vocals, it could have had ideas for a new Savatage album, being very much in the vein of "Dead Winter Dead" or "Wake of Magellan". The same kinds of vocal melodies, the same kinds of arrangements, the same type of lyrical themes. If you really dig the mellower bits on the last Savatage albums, you need to get this. After this record release (AFM, 2003) the entire band other than Stevens quit and eventually went on to join Oliva in Jon Oliva's Pain. Other 3 albums were released under AFM, then other 3 under Ear / Edel. Available on vinyl for the very first time, kindly licensed by AFM.
